Rebecca's Parenting Truths
I would never pretend to know all there is to know about parenting, but having had the privilege of meetings hundreds of families throughout my career as an elementary school teacher, it has given me a unique peek into the shifting face of parenthood over the past 20 years. After having my own family and grounding myself in mindfulness practices, I have come to see parenting as much a journey about myself as it is about my son.
I have watched the approaches to parenting shift and change and have come to some solid conclusions about how to raise kids that are resilient, kind, reflective and respectful, while honoring their unique inner light and beauty. Yes, we also want our children to be curious and intelligent and critical thinkers and creative and hardworking, and all those other wonderful character traits; however, I believe that when we lay the soil of kindness, resilience, respect and the ability to reflect, then a whole assortment of other beautiful things can emerge and grow.
Join me as we dig into the messy and sometimes ugly truths of the hardest job on earth. Listen to me share my mistakes and how I've grown from them and how I have learned and continue to learn from so many experts around me.
